Available now

Classic card and board games for everyday play.

What it does

Fireside Classic Games collects twenty-one card, board, and puzzle games people already know how to play, in one app that opens quickly and works anywhere.

Games run on your device and do not need a connection. There is no account, and no advertising in either the free or the paid version.

Key features

  • Solitaire: Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, TriPeaks, Pyramid, and Golf
  • Card games: Hearts, Spades, Bridge, Cribbage, Euchre, Gin Rummy, Canasta, Pinochle, Hand and Foot, Sheepshead, and Oh Hell!
  • Board games: Chess, Checkers, and Backgammon
  • Puzzles: Sudoku
  • Every game opens the same way: Play Now, Set Difficulty, House Rules, and How to Play
  • Four opponent difficulty levels, each described in plain language
  • Forty-five house rules across seventeen games, remembered between sessions so you only set them once
  • Rules for every game in plain English, readable without leaving the table
  • Watch a Hand: one real deal played out a step at a time, with the reason for every card
  • Practice Hand: play a real hand with every card face up and a coach that says what it would play and why, with nothing counted
  • The rules, the watched hand, and the practice hand all follow the house rules you have set, and say which ones are in force
  • Light and dark table themes
  • Plays offline, with no account and no advertising

  • A hand of Canasta against three opponents, with the stock and discard pile on the green felt, the red threes counted at the side, and the player’s hand fanned across the bottom.
  • A hand of Hand and Foot in progress, with the stock and discard pile on the felt, each opponent’s card count above them, and the player’s hand fanned along the bottom.
  • A Cribbage hand being counted below the pegging board: four fifteens for eight, a pair of kings for two, ten in all.
  • A game of chess against the computer, the pieces set out on a wooden board with the file and rank labels along the edges.
  • A game of backgammon in progress, the checkers spread across the points with the doubling cube and the pip count beside the board.
